about the artist

Bobbi Meier is an artist/educator displaying her artwork locally and nationally. The underlying theme of her work explores the struggle for elegance in a chaotic, decidedly inelegant world.

Ms. Meier spent 20 years in professional practice as a graphic designer. She holds a Master's degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and teaches art at Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois and periodically at The School of the Art Institute. Her work has been exhibited at The University of Illinois at Chicago; Woman Made Gallery, Chicago; The Museum of Surgical Science, Chicago; Brickton Art Center, Park Ridge, Illinois; Amos Joseph Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has been an artist in residence at Ox-Bow School of Art and Artist Residency, in Saugatuck, Michigan and her work has been published in The Woman Made Gallery "Her Mark" calendar, in the Pioneer Press, and in Drawing Magazine.

Ms. Meier's body of work includes works on paper, canvas, stretched bed-linens, and wood panel utilizing a variety of drawing, painting, and printmaking media. Her recent work includes painted murals and wall installations.

Ms. Meier is a member of the Chicago Artists' Coalition and National Art Education Association.
